CRPD Committee closes 16th session with adoption of General Comments 3 & 4

During the 16th session of the UN Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (15 August- 2 September 2016) the Committee held interactive dialogues with Uruguay, Ethiopia, Bolivia, United Arab Emirates, Guatemala, Colombia and Italy as well as adopted lists of issues on Canada.

It also adopted two General Comments:

- General Comment no 3 on women and girls with disabilities (Art 6)

- General Comment no 4 on the right to inclusive education (Art 24)

The Committee decided that its 17th session would be held from 20 March to 12 April 2017 and would be preceded by the seventh meeting of the pre-sessional working group, from 13 to 17 March 2017.
