The Opening Session was chaired by the President of the National Assembly, Eduardo Ferro Rodrigues, and was also attended by Ana Sofia Antunes, Secretary of State for the Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities.
The hearing was attended by Ana Pélaez, who was a member of the UN Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities from 2009 to 2016, and was the rapporteur for the final conclusions on Portugal's Initial Report on the implementation of the Convention in Portugal, and Paula Campos Pinto, President of the National Mechanism for Monitoring the Implementation of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (Me-CDPD).
There was also a debate among the participants, followed by speakers from the parliamentary groups: Sandra Pereira (PSD), Maria da Luz Rosinha (PS), Jorge Falcato (BE), Filipe Anacoreta Correia (CDS-PP) and Diana Ferreira (PCP).
The closing session was chaired by Wanda Guimarães, Vice-Chairman of the Committee on Labor and Social Security.
