On June 21st, from 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., professor and researcher Michel Desjardins from the Department of Psychology, University of Saskatchewan, Canada (click here to see the profile) will host a workshop on his work on disability studies, at ISCSP, in Lisbon. The workshop will be held in English. This initiative promoted by ODDH is part of its training activities.
On April 13, ODDH presented its report “Persons with Disabilities in Portugal – Human Rights Indicators 2017” in Sintra, in the context of the initiative "Meaningful Conversations " promoted by C.E.C.D. Mira Sintra - Education Centre for Citizens with Disabilities.
During its 19th session (14 February- 9 March 2018) the UN Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities launched the process for adopting its General Comment No. 7 on articles 4.3 and 33.3 of the Convention, relating to consultation and involvement of persons with disabilities, including children with disabilities in decision-making processes, through their representative organizations. At the end of the 19th session, the Committee endorsed its first draft for consultation with the wider public, available in English (please click the link below to download the document).
