As part of the public discussion process on the "Model of Support for Independent Living - Personal Assistance", until March 24, 2017, the Observatory on Disability and Human Rights (ODDH) prepared a document with contributions / suggestions already submitted to the National Institute for Rehabilitation (available below in portuguese).
The VI Alter - European Society for Disability Research Conference will take place on July 6-7, 2017, in Lausanne, Switzerland. This year’s conference theme is “Disability, Recognition and ‘Community living’ - Diversity of practises and plurality of values”.
To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, adopted by the UN on December 13, 2006, the Observatory on Disability and Human Rights (ODDH) organizes a Symposium on 10 Years of the Disability Convention, at the School of Social and Political Sciences of the University of Lisbon (ISCSP-ULisboa).
Between 23 and 25 February 2017 will be held the "II International Congress on Human Rights and Inclusive School: Multiple Perspectives", at the School of Education and Communication (ESEC), at the University of Algarve. The call for submissions of communications is open until 31 October 2016.
During the 16th session of the UN Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (15 August- 2 September 2016) the Committee held interactive dialogues with Uruguay, Ethiopia, Bolivia, United Arab Emirates, Guatemala, Colombia and Italy as well as adopted lists of issues on Canada.
